Love Our Colleges Week’s gets BMet’s vote!

BMet loves to support Love Our Colleges Week and is pleased to be getting involved again this year with a range of communications, mostly highlighting the importance of voting.

The annual AoC campaign starts today and will come to an end on Friday 1 March.

With the general election looming, this year’s theme uses the buzz words, “influencing, engaging and celebrating” and aims to encourage the college community to use their voice to express their political views.

Whoever the next government is, the campaign focuses on ensuring colleges play an even bigger role in an inclusive, tolerant, welcoming, strong society and a growing and productive economy.

That’s why the focus on this Colleges Week will be political influencing in both the short and long term. Conversations will be sparked around the spring budget due on 6 March, the mayoral elections in May and the general election expected in autumn.

In general, the national awareness week is a chance for BMet, alongside other colleges, to showcase content surrounding what they love about their colleges.

The aim is to create a robust and engaging presence that aligns with AoC’s vision and BMet’s college community, emphasising the value and impact of colleges.

Using a range of written and video communications, students and staff across BMet’s colleges will discuss the impact of voting during the week.

Key content highlights will include exploring the importance of voting with conversations with student council members, law students and a dialogue between a student and teacher.

In addition, there will also be an all-day Tweetathon/X-athon on Thursday 29 February to highlight various activities that are happening across BMet’s busy colleges.

We really encourage you to get involved in Love Our College’s Week and our communications surrounding it – so, please do engage with us on BMet’s social media channels.
