Understanding of Climate Change & Environmental Awareness Certificate Level 2

This qualification is designed to provide an introduction to the principles of climate change and environmental awareness.

It will ensure learners understand the nature of climate change and the role they can play in helping to reduce carbon emissions which is a global focus.
Through achieving the qualification, learners will gain the knowledge and understanding to act as drivers of positive change within the workplace and at home.

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve all 3 mandatory units. A partial certificate may be requested for learners who do not achieve their full qualification but have achieved at least one whole unit.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including Double Science, English, and Maths. You will need either English or Maths at Grade 4 or above.

You will be assessed through practical work and assignments.

After this course you may choose to move onto the Level 3 in Applied Science. You may also choose to change to other areas of study like sport Science or health and social care.

The underpinning knowledge, practical and vocational scientific skills learnt on the BTEC course will enhance and support the progression to a competency-based course.
