The course will give you practical advice and help in how to set up and run a small business.

You will learn how to write a business plan and topics include: Developing your business idea, Investigating your market, Minimising risk for your business, Protecting your business idea, Locating your business, Legal structures for your business, Financing your business, Marketing your Business and about Financial documents for your business.

There may be an option for evening study, please speak with the tutor following your application.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 5 Weeks

There are no entry requirements to join the course. You will need to have an interest in setting up a small business or be running a small business and want more information about the practicalities involved.

There is no formal qualification attached to this programme, so there will be no exams; your teacher will monitor your progress and work with you to develop your skills. At the end of the course you will be awarded a college certificate of achievement.

The course will give you the knowledge to set up your own business.
