This qualification is aimed at a adults who are thinking of working in a school setting. It prepares you for further learning and training whilst helping you to develop an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting.

This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting.It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development. It also covers how to communicate effectively and understanding schools as organisations.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 11 Weeks

There are no specific recommended prior learning for this qualification; however learners must to be working at minimum entry level 3 in literacy.

This qualification will be internally assessed using a range of methods, which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.

This award prepares you for progression routes onto either level 2 diploma for the early years practitioner or level 2 certificate in supporting, teaching and learning.
