Health & Social Care & Children & Young People's Workforce ESOL Vocational Award Level 1

This course offers an introduction to health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings. It is for people who want to work in this area in the future.
This qualification will help you develop knowledge and understanding of the sector, so you can decide what sort of job you would like to so in the future.

You must achieve the following units to gain the award qualification:
• Understand the Range of Service Provision and Roles
• Understand the Principles and Values
• Introductory Awareness of Health and Safety

This course is suitable for you if you are aged 19 or above and you have little or no experience in health and social care and/ or childcare.

Entry Requirements

You should be at least 19 years old with a minimum working level Entry 3 in Literacy/ ESOL (essential) and Numeracy (desired).

Delivery and Assessment

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods.


This qualification allows progression on to the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Health and Social Care or Introduction to Early Years Educator/ Support Teaching and Learning qualifications.
