Art & Design Award Level 1

This course offers an overview of Art & Design.

This is a multi-disciplinary course that builds upon the basics of drawing to develop and refine your visual ideas. This qualification is designed to provide you with skills to express your ideas and you will undertake projects in fine art, 3D, and textiles. This course is for anyone that knows they wish to progress towards a career in the creative industries.

You will spend a lot of time in specialist studios and workshops. You will learn about:

  • the creative industries and possible job roles
  • how to research and develop design ideas
  • produce finished designs and models

You will be able to focus on developing maths and English whilst studying this course.

Awarded by UAL Awarding Body you will achieve a UAL Level 1 Award and Diploma in Art, Design and Media on completion of this course.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

There are no formal entry requirements.  Entry will be by interview with an art and design portfolio.

This course is all coursework. You will produce project work, evidence folders, annotated sketchbooks, design sheets and finished outcomes and models.

From this course you can continue onto a range of Level 1 or 2 creative courses, depending on your skill levels.
