HR Support Apprenticeship

Working as part of a team, supporting others and the organisation you work in. A HR professional is a role where you could do all of this.

The function of a HR professional is to support HR managers and employees. Handling day to day queries and providing HR advice.

HR Professionals in this role are typically either working in a medium to large organisation as part of the HR function delivering front line support to managers and employees, or are a HR Manager in a small organisation. Their work is likely to include handling day to day queries and providing HR advice, working on a range of HR processes, ranging from transactional to relatively complex, from recruitment through to retirement. Using HR systems to keep records, providing relevant HR information to the business and working with the business on HR changes.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: Weeks

Individual employers set the selection criteria however, for entry onto this apprenticeship applicants must have 5 GCSE’s at grade C/4 and above or equivalent including English and maths. Two  A levels are also required.   Of equal importance are skills like motivation and work ethic, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn. Employers will set specifications depending on the role.   Learners will need to be 18+ to apply for this course.

The duration of the apprenticeship is approximately 18 months depending on the needs of the employer and the learner.  This will be delivered in the workplace, supported by an interactive/digital workbook in preparation for the exam based elements of the qualification. The candidate will be assigned a learning coach/mentor with Human Resouces experience who will guide them through creating their own professional portfolio of evidence during a series of one to one support visits. The duration of the apprenticeship will vary. After at least a 15 month period of study, end point assessment/grading will be based on their, consultative project based test and professional discussion.

The HR support role may be a gateway to further career or training opportunities, such as HR consultant level 5 Apprenticeship.

The level 3 Apprenticeship covers modules in business understanding, HR legislation and policy, HR, functions, HR systems and processes.
