Engineering Technologies Certificate Level 1 (Adults)

This introductory course offers you a wonderful opportunity to experience a very practical engineering programme which consists of both mechanical and electrical engineering.  This is a level 1 engineering course that involves studying a range of subjects covering the electrical field in engineering.  The units that are covered are as follow:

UNIT 101 – HEALTH AND SAFETY

UNIT 106 – ENGINEERING MATHS AND SCIENCE

UNIT 107 – ELECTRICAL PRINCIPLES.

If you enjoy building and testing circuits and want to make products in mechanical engineering workshops, this course is for you.

You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (Maths and English must be included).  An initial maths and English diagnostic will also be required to determine suitability.

The course is assessed via coursework and 1 online test which you must pass in order to achieve and secure your target grades. Some of the coursework assessments are in-class. Coursework includes carrying out researches involving analysis, evaluation and mathematical calculations. Each unit is graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction, dependent on work completed.

Completion of this course can lead to Level 2 Diploma in Engineering providing a minimum of a grade M overall. Or apply for the many engineering apprenticeship jobs that are available within this exciting sector.
