Digital & IT Skills Foundation Level 2 T Level

Digital is the way forward.

This Foundation T Level is designed to help you develop your digital skills and prepare you for Level 3 studies, whilst continuing to work towards your grade 4 in English and /or mathematics.

This is a one-year post-GCSE course designed to get you T Level ready. It will give you relevant knowledge in cybersecurity and practical skills in programming and logic.

This foundation year will give you the opportunity to develop your study skills and behaviour in preparation for the next level, as well as the opportunity to gain work experience through live projects to develop the relevant, in demand industry skills.

The Foundation T Level in Digital & IT Skills will help you develop knowledge, skills and behaviours to prepare you for Level 3 including:

  • Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Digital and IT Skills
  • Programming and logic skills
  • Work experience in real life industry live projects
  • GSCE English and/or mathematics

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

To gain entry to the T Level Foundation in Digital & IT Skills you will need at least 4 grade 3’s in English, mathematics, and any other additional subjects.

This course is delivered through face-to-face classroom delivery.

This course is assessed through:

  • Homework and class activities
  • Internally assessed coursework
  • Externally assessed GSCE examinations in English and mathematics

On successful completion of this course you can progress onto Level 3 Digital programs including the Level 3 T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development and Level 3 Certificate in Social Media and Infrastructure.

Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Digital and IT Skills (15 credits) proposed units:

  • Digital Skills Career Progression – the importance of digital skills in the workplace 
  • Digital Skills Project – plan, develop and review a digital skills project 
  • Cybersecurity – investigate the accidental and malicious security threats that exist to IT systems and data.
