Physics A Level

Physics is a highly regarded A level and well respected by universities and in a number of career paths.

If you enjoy discussions, experiments and have an enquiring mind you will enjoy this subject.

When studying physics the areas you will cover are; electricity, waves and motion before considering a variety of interesting topics like quantum physics. You will then progress to study circular motion, thermal physics and modelling the universe.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 34 Weeks

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in academic subjects, with grade 6/B in GCSE English Language & maths, and grade 66/BB in either Dual Award Science or two Science subjects including Physics.

This course is assessed by written examination at the end of two years of study, with a range of practical assessments (PAGs) also being completed through the course in order to also gain the Practical Endorsement which is essential for onward progression to Science based degrees.

Physics is an essential and highly valued discipline in many areas of further study and industry including engineering and architecture, health and biomedicine, public services and utilities, environmental monitoring, education, and computing.
