BMet Students Celebrate Another Year of Strong Results
BMet students are joining thousands across the country in celebrating their A Level, T Level and vocational results today and the picture is one of continued progress and achievement.
Early analysis shows a notable improvement in vocational outcomes, with the overall pass rate for Level 3 courses rising to 93%, up from 92% last year. Certificate and diploma pass rates have also improved to 87% and 97% respectively.
This year also marks the release of BMet’s first-ever T Level results, with a strong overall pass rate of 91% across the new technical qualifications, a promising start for the college’s newest offer.
In A Levels, students at BMet Sutton Coldfield College have again demonstrated resilience and dedication with a year of excellent results. Over one in five grades (22%) awarded were at A* to B (an increase of 7% on last year). Overall, at Sutton Coldfield College pass rates were on the up with an overall pass rate of 92%, an increase of 3% on last year. This strong outcome reflects students’ hard work and commitment and highlights the teaching teams support and guidance.
One A Level student, Hatice, has had A grades across the board and has accepted a place to study Medicine at Oxford University.
Deputy Principal Anna Jackson said: “We’re incredibly proud of our students and the upward trend we’re seeing in results year-on-year. These achievements are a testament to the effort our learners have put in, and to the dedication of our teaching and support teams.
“For any students whether you studied at BMet or not who didn’t quite get the grades they hoped for, we want you to know that there are still plenty of options available. From university-level courses to professional qualifications and apprenticeships, we’re here to help you explore your next steps.”
For the second year running, BMet marked results day with a mini celebration festival at Sutton Coldfield College open to students from across all three campuses: Matthew Boulton College, James Watt College and Sutton Coldfield College. The event provided a fun and supportive space for students to come together, celebrate achievements, and access on-the-day advice and guidance.

Areeth, a Biology, Psychology and Sociology A Level student at Sutton Coldfield College: “I am happy with my results I got which will enable me to progress onto a career in Psychology. I am pleased that I was able to achieve what I have, especially as I faced a few challenges during my course. Overall, I pushed through, worked hard and tried my best and it’s good to know that it was all worthwhile!”
Robyn, a Biology, English Language and Art A Level student: “I am particularly happy with my grade C English result, as I have had quite a disruptive couple of years and wasn’t sure I would pass it! BMet has been an amazing source of support for me and I have been able to grow both academically and personally.”
Comfort, T Level Science student at Matthew Boulton College: “I gained a C overall and am heading towards a distinction in my second year, which is good and I have had positive feedback from my fellow students and staff! I am now one step closer to getting to my desired career in medicine and I’m excited for the future!”
Kayden, studying a T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning in Construction at James Watt College: “I am ecstatic that I obtained a Merit today. I have absolutely loved studying at BMet and advancing in my chosen course, as I have learned so many skills and developed my knowledge in a field that I am very passionate about! My next step is to do a HNC at BMet and to do an apprenticeship.”
