Physics A Level

A Level Physics is a highly respected subject that opens doors to a wide range of university courses and careers. If you enjoy experiments, discussions, and exploring how the world works, this course will challenge and inspire you.

You’ll study electricity, waves, motion, and quantum physics, followed by circular motion, thermal physics, and modelling the universe. The course encourages analytical thinking and scientific investigation.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including grade 6 in GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths, and grade 66 in either Dual Award Science or two separate Science subjects including Physics.

Assessed by written exams at the end of two years, plus practical assessments (PAGs) throughout the course to gain the Practical Endorsement required for science-based degrees.

Physics is essential for careers in engineering, architecture, biomedicine, computing, environmental science, education, and public services.
