Employers set their own selection criteria, but most apprentices will need five GCSEs at grade 5/C or above. You should also hold Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or be prepared to complete them during the apprenticeship. Prior experience in HR or people management may also be considered.

You’ll be assessed through a combination of CIPD unit assessments and an End Point Assessment, which includes a consultative project and a professional discussion. Online lessons are available anytime and include animations, case studies, and interactive tools. On campus, you’ll benefit from group work, discussions, and tutor-led activities that apply theory to real-life scenarios.

On successful completion, you’ll gain CIPD Associate Membership and the designation “Assoc CIPD,” boosting your professional credibility. You can progress to higher-level CIPD qualifications, continue your development through a higher apprenticeship, or move into roles such as HR Manager, People Partner, or Talent Development Lead.

We work with a range of large and small  employers that support apprentices throughout their journey.

To be awarded the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, learners are required to successfully complete all four mandatory core units:

  • Business, culture and change in context
  • Core behaviours for people professionals
  • Essentials of people practice
