The HNC in Digital Marketing is a specialist qualification designed to prepare you for a career in the fast-paced world of digital marketing. You’ll gain essential skills in areas such as software
development, cybersecurity, networking, data management, and social media strategy.

This course is ideal for recent Level 3 graduates, professionals looking to upskill, or anyone with a passion for marketing, technology, and innovation. You’ll learn through lectures, workshops, and real-world work experience. Lessons are typically timetabled over two to three days per week, with additional independent study expected. Teaching staff bring extensive industry experience to support your learning. Tuition fees apply to the first year (HNC) and may increase in subsequent years (HND) in line with inflation or government policy.

Course Length: 30 Weeks

You’ll need an appropriate Level 3 qualification worth 48 UCAS points (e.g. two D grades at A Level, MP in BTEC Diploma, or a Pass in BTEC Extended Diploma). You’ll also need GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. Applicants aged 21+ without formal qualifications may be considered based on interview.

You’ll be assessed through a mix of coursework and exams, including report writing, presentations, group tasks, and interviews. These methods are designed to help you demonstrate your understanding and apply your skills in practical contexts.

After completing the HNC, you can progress into roles such as Marketing Executive, Marketing Officer, or Communications Officer. You may also choose to continue your studies at university in areas like Marketing, International Marketing, or Business & Marketing. You’ll be supported in linking with professional bodies such as the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and can pursue further development through higher apprenticeships.

You’ll study The Marketing and Sales Environment, Principles of Marketing and Sales, Market Research and Techniques (Pearson-set), Managing Customers, Business Skills and Communications, Products, Content and Multi Channels, Marketing Strategy and Planning, and Managing Marketing and Digital Communications.
