Introduction to Early Years Settings Award Level 1

This course is ideal if you are a volunteer or parent/carer who has an interest in working or participating in childcare. Through studying this course you will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities in early years settings.

This qualification develops a basic knowledge of childcare in early years settings. It covers working with children up to the age of 5 years old. Subjects include the value of play, role and responsibilities of carers, volunteers, and management within an early years setting.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 12 Weeks

There are no specific recommended prior learning for this qualification; however learners must to be working at minimum entry level 3 in literacy.

You will be assessed through written tasks and there are no exams.

This award prepares you for progression routes onto either level 2 diploma for the early years practitioner or level 2 certificate in supporting, teaching and learning.
