HR Support Apprenticeship

The HR Support Apprenticeship (CIPD Level 3) is ideal for those starting out in human resources or working in a people-practice support role. You’ll gain the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice – a nationally recognised qualification that builds your confidence and capability as a people professional. This flexible programme is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and combines online learning with regular tutor-led sessions.

You’ll study the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, developing essential knowledge and skills to support HR functions. The course covers key areas such as business culture, professional behaviours, and the fundamentals of people practice. You’ll learn through interactive online lessons and apply your learning in real workplace scenarios.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 0 Weeks

Employers set their own selection criteria, but most apprentices are expected to hold five GCSEs at grade 5 (C) or above. You’ll also need Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or be willing to complete them during the apprenticeship. Prior experience may be considered.

Apprentices study through a blend of online and on-campus learning. Online lessons are flexible and engaging, while regular tutor-led sessions provide support and opportunities to apply theory to practice. Assessment includes a consultative project and professional discussion, alongside unit-based CIPD assessments.

On successful completion, you can progress to CIPD Associate Level 5 qualifications. Career options include roles such as HR Advisor, HR Officer, Recruiter, HR Coordinator, and Training Coordinator. You’ll also gain Foundation Membership of the CIPD, a globally recognised badge of professionalism.

We work with a range of large and small  employers that support apprentices throughout their journey.

You’ll complete four mandatory units: Business, Culture and Change in Context; Core Behaviours for People Professionals; and Essentials of People Practice. These units provide a strong foundation for working effectively in HR and supporting organisational success.
