Delivered at our Matthew Boulton campus in the heart of Birmingham, this four-week programme is ideal for anyone looking to gain a recognised qualification and improve their employability in the health and care sector.

You’ll study key topics including infection control, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), patient and peer support, and health and safety awareness. The course is designed to be engaging and hands-on, helping you build confidence and practical knowledge.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. It’s open to anyone looking to develop their skills and gain a recognised qualification in healthcare.

You’ll learn through a mix of tutor-led sessions and practical activities, supported by your personal tutor. The course is delivered over four weeks, with start dates available in April, May, June, and July.

Completing this course will enhance your CV with a Highfield qualification – recognised by employers across the UK. You’ll be better prepared for roles in healthcare or for further study in the sector.

You’ll learn how to prevent and manage infections, understand PPE and waste procedures, and explore the legal responsibilities around hazardous substances. You’ll also develop customer service and communication skills for supporting patients and peers, and gain a clear understanding of health and safety practices in the workplace.
