Business Extended Certificate Level 3

You will study a range of business topics including how businesses market their products, the importance of branding, personal and business finance, recruitment and selection and much more.

The learning programme covers the following content areas:

  • business environments
  • finance
  • marketing
  • international business
  • management

The optional units have been designed to support progression to business courses in higher education, and to link with relevant occupational areas. They cover content areas such as:

  • human resources
  • accounting
  • marketing
  • law

This qualification can be taken as a one or two year course providing the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare for employment or further progression in education. It is equivalent to three AS Levels and carries UCAS points.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

Entry requirements are a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grade 4 (or C) including English or maths. You can resit either English or maths alongside this course. If you are successful in Year 1, you will progress onto the Diploma in Business.

Assessment consists of a mixture of exams and course work.

Successful completion of the course with an appropriate grade profile and acceptable attendance record will allow students to progress onto Level 3 Diploma in Business, employment or university.
