This hands-on and theory-based course is ideal for anyone looking to start a career in bricklaying. You’ll learn the essential skills needed to work in the construction industry and begin your journey toward becoming a qualified tradesperson.

You’ll learn how to interpret construction drawings, build solid walls and piers, produce joint masonry, and understand key health and safety practices. The course is designed to help you develop practical skills and confidence in a supportive training environment.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 18 Weeks

You’ll complete an initial assessment to ensure you’re working at Level 1 in Maths and English. An interview with a tutor is also required before enrolment.

The course runs three days a week for 18 weeks. You’ll be assessed through coursework, practical training tasks, multiple-choice tests, and an external online exam.

After completing the Level 1 Diploma, you can progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying or seek employment in the construction industry as an improver.
