Course overview
You’ll build on your existing experience in education by developing leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflective practice skills. The course encourages you to apply theory to your daily work, helping you become a confident and capable leader within your setting.
Course details
You must be at least 18 years old and employed in a suitable role within a school or college. You’ll need GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or above (or equivalent), a Level 3 STLS qualification (or equivalent), and relevant experience working in education.
All units are assessed internally through a mix of workplace observation, written assignments and professional discussions. The course is completed over one year and is entirely work-based, so you must be employed in a Level 3 role within a school or college.
This qualification can support progression into higher education or more senior roles within the education sector. Possible career paths include Higher Level Teaching Assistant, team leader, mentor, or roles with management and supervision responsibilities.
