James Watt College, based on Aldridge Road in Great Barr, is a centre of excellence for technical and vocational training.

James Watt College offers full-time courses for 16-19s, apprenticeships and T Levels, as well as part-time courses for adults, including Access to Higher Education and university-level study.

The college specialises in construction, engineering, games, media, health and social care, and early years, with gas and electrical engineering workshops that rival many commercial operations.

Erdington Skills Centre offers practical and vocational courses in bricklaying, plastering, carpentry, and electrical, alongside maths, English, and free courses for unemployed learners.
