WHAT IS AN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY?

Institutes of Technology (IoTs) are national centres of excellence for technical education. They bring together further education colleges, universities, and employers to deliver higher technical qualifications in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths).

IoTs are designed to:

  • Provide clear routes into technical careers
  • Equip employers with work-ready staff
  • Support young people, adult learners, and employees to upskill and retrain
