If English is not your first language and you want to gain confidence, then this is the pathway for you. Our ESOL courses will help you to improve your skills and communication more effectively at home or at work.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

There are no more places on our ESOL courses at Matthew Boulton College or James Watt College for 25/26 academic year. Online enquiries for September 2026 will open here from April 2026.

ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES

You will also develop important social and team working skills to help you get a job or continue with your studies.

We offer courses in Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing from Entry 1 to Level 2, as three separate courses.  The course you will be offered will depend on your previous qualifications and an initial assessment.

ESOL ASSESSMENTS FOR MAY & JULY 2026

If you would like to study ESOL at BMet, complete the enquiry form for your selected college below. Once submitted, you will be invited to attend an assessment day prior to starting the course.
