Sutton Coldfield College Cricket Academy

Cricket is a growing sport at BMet, with indoor training during winter and competitive 20/20 matches in summer. As part of the Cricket Academy, student athletes combine academic study with cricket-specific training, match play, tutorials, purposeful work experience, and support in English or maths if needed.

Course overview

You’ll follow a personalised academic pathway based on your qualifications. Options include A Levels (e.g. Drama, Psychology, Biology, Business, Law) or vocational courses (e.g. Sport, Health & Social Care, Travel, IT, Performing Arts). You’ll receive expert coaching and play matches weekly, while developing your skills in both sport and study.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements depend on your chosen academic course. GCSEs at the required level are needed, including English and maths. Students who don’t meet Level 3 requirements can still join the Cricket Academy and study a Level 1 or 2 qualification.

Progression Opportunities

Progress to higher education, apprenticeships or employment in sport, coaching, fitness, or related industries.

Delivery And Assessment

Delivery takes place at Sutton Coldfield College, with training scheduled to fit around your academic timetable. Assessment methods vary by course and may include portfolios, case studies, reports, presentations, exams and written assignments.
