Course overview
You’ll explore how your body and mind impact performance, learn how to train and test your fitness, and build on your school-level knowledge through practical and theoretical sport modules. The course is designed to challenge and motivate you to improve your own performance and support others.
What this course covers
Entry Requirements
You’ll need to apply online and attend football trials. Entry level depends on your qualifications: Level 1 – mainly GCSE E/2 grades; Level 2 – Level 1 qualification or GCSE D/3 grades; Level 3 – Level 2 qualification plus GCSE grade 4s including Maths and English (Science for Sports & Exercise Science pathway).
Progression Opportunities
After completing your study level, you can progress to the next level at college, explore other curriculum areas, or – if you complete Level 3 – apply for university, a scholarship, or a higher education programme at BMet.
Delivery And Assessment
You’ll choose a sports course to study alongside football training. Assessment methods include written reports, presentations, practical tasks, analysis, and group work.
