Sports in Leading Community Activity Diploma Level 2

This course is ideal for anyone looking to start a career as a sports coach for children. Developed in consultation with employers and mapped to professional standards, it equips you with the skills and behaviours needed to work in school and community settings.

Course overview

All content is mandatory and directly aligned with industry expectations. You’ll explore participation in sport, roles in the active leisure industry, professional behaviours, the school environment, planning and leading sessions, and sports legislation. You’ll also take part in real-world opportunities such as leading Panathlon events, officiating school tournaments and supporting multi-sport activities.

Entry Requirements

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (or equivalent), including English and/or maths. We also consider Level 1 sport qualifications with a Merit grade or above.

Progression Opportunities

Progress to the Level 3 CTEC Sports course or enter employment in activity leadership or sports coaching.

Delivery And Assessment

This course is 100% coursework. You’ll complete group projects, presentations, reports, professional discussions, event management tasks and a portfolio of evidence. You’ll also be assessed practically in a sports leadership or coaching environment.
