Course overview
You’ll gain the knowledge and competence needed to support teaching in the compulsory education sector (pre-19 years). The course covers a wide range of support roles and helps you build confidence and professional skills for working with children and young people.

Entry Requirements
You must be at least 19 years old with a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English and maths, or Level 1 Functional Skills. A DBS check is required. You’ll also need at least one year of experience working in a school setting for 12+ hours per week, either employed or voluntary.
Progression Opportunities
Progress into employment as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in primary, secondary or further education.
Delivery And Assessment
All units are internally assessed through workplace observations, written assignments, portfolios and tasks set by CACHE. Some learning outcomes must be assessed in a real work environment.
