Course overview
You’ll study a mix of theory and practical sport topics. Classroom sessions include learning about the body, planning fitness programmes, and designing coaching sessions. Practical lessons involve team sports, gym workouts, and supporting real coaching activities in schools.
Course details
You’ll need to achieve Entry Level 3 in an English Initial Assessment or hold an equivalent qualification. A strong interest in sport and a willingness to take part in both theory and practical activities is essential.
You’ll be assessed through coursework including presentations, posters, reports, and training plans.
After completing this course, you can progress to a Level 2 qualification such as the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport or the Level 2 NVQ in Activity Leadership. You may also explore new areas like Uniformed Public Services.
