You’ll study topics such as health studies, social policy, psychology, and essential research skills. The course also includes study techniques, academic writing, and ICT development to support your learning journey.
What this course covers
You’ll study Cell Biology, Aspects of Human Physiology, Biomolecules and Biochemical Principles, Effective Communication and Health Promotion, Infectious Diseases, Drug and Biological Defences, Safeguarding Principles, Introduction to Professional Healthcare Practice, Preparing for Progress, and Developing Study Skills.
Entry Requirements
You must be aged 19 or over and have GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths. It’s also recommended that you gain some work experience in a health-related setting before starting the course.
Progression Opportunities
Most students progress to university degrees in health-related professions such as Nursing, Midwifery, Radiology, and Podiatry.
Delivery And Assessment
Assessment is through a combination of coursework and exams. Coursework may include essays, presentations, reports, discussions, and portfolios of evidence.
