Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Health & Social Care Certificate Level 2

This Level 2 course is ideal for anyone currently working or looking to work in the health and social care sector. You’ll gain essential knowledge about the safe handling of medication, helping you support others confidently and responsibly in a care setting.

You’ll complete four mandatory units that cover key areas such as understanding medication and prescriptions, safe supply, storage and disposal, administration requirements, and record keeping and audit processes.

There are no formal entry requirements. This course may be funded if you’re aged 19 or over, have a Level 2 qualification, and have lived in England for at least three years.

All learning materials are provided online or in paper format, with support from your allocated assessor. You’ll be assessed through a series of questions and practical tasks designed to demonstrate your understanding.

After completing this course, you can progress to other NCFE qualifications or explore employment opportunities in the health and social care sector.
