<p>This applied general qualification combines academic learning with practical experience, giving you a strong foundation to progress into higher education or start your career in areas such as nursing, social work, or healthcare support.

Course details
You will need four GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A–C), including English, Maths and Science. Alternatively, you should have a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care at Merit or above, along with GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above.
This course is equivalent in size to three A Levels. • You will study a total of 13 units (8 mandatory and 4 optional) • Assessment includes external exams, with two exams each year, sat in January • You will complete 6 units in Year 1 and 7 units in Year 2 As part of the course, you will complete a minimum of 100 hours of work experience across two years in a relevant health or social care setting. This hands-on experience is invaluable for building your CV and strengthening university applications.
After completing this course, you can progress to: • University degrees in Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and related fields • Higher apprenticeships in health or social care • Employment within care services, the NHS, or community support organisations
