Electrical Installation Diploma Level 1

Are you Interested in Electrical Installation? This Level 1 course could be your starting point. You will study in a realistic working environment for practical sessions and a modern classroom for theory.

The course aims to prepare you for an Electrical Apprenticeship or Electrical Installation Level 2. You will undertake practical skills and tasks relating to domestic, commercial and industrial installations which are simulated in the electrical workshop.

From start to finish this course outlines all types of domestic installations, including:

1 - 2- & 3-way Lighting circuits

2 - Ring finals circuits

3 - Radial circuits, and many more challenging stretcher activities.

It also includes Inspecting and Testing of your own work, fault finding practice on rigged circuit boards.

You will receive expert knowledge throughout and be fully supported by your tutors.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

Minimum grade 3 GCSE in English & maths, plus 2 GSCEs at grade E/3 to include a science. Learners must be able to follow instructions and have a willingness to work. You will be required to attend an interview.

You will be expected to have 100% attendance, 100% punctuality and homework completed and submitted timely.

On-going assessment of coursework, assignments and practical assessments

On successful completion of all the City & Guilds modules, together with the associated Functional Skills element, could enable you to progress to an apprenticeship should you wish to pursue a career in the Electrical Installation industry. If you do not have an apprenticeship Electrical Installation Level 2 is an option.
