UAL Visual Communication (Animation, Advertising, Graphic Design, Photography) Diploma Level 3

If you’re passionate about combining creativity with digital tools, this course is for you. The UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication helps you develop skills in both hand-rendered and digital formats. You’ll work on exciting, realistic projects that help you build a strong portfolio. Areas of study include typography, photography, digital graphic design, animation, illustration, advertising and web design. The course is designed to help you progress into employment as a junior designer or onto university-level study.

What this course covers

Entry Requirements

You’ll need four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English or Maths. Alternatively, a Level 2 Diploma in a related subject at Merit or Distinction grade is accepted. You’ll also be asked to bring a portfolio of art and design work to your interview.

Progression Opportunities

After completing the Diploma, you can progress to a Foundation Diploma, Higher Education or employment. Career options include game design, book illustration, web design, and corporate branding.

Delivery And Assessment

The course is 100% coursework-based. You’ll produce work in 2D, 3D and time-based media, including sketchbooks, design sheets, research projects, evidence folders and photographs documenting your creative process.
