Course overview
You’ll attend college one day a week and spend two days a week in a school placement. Topics include child development, supporting learners with SEND, and building professional relationships. You’ll take part in group work, case studies and practical activities that link classroom learning with real-world experience.
What this course covers
Entry Requirements
You should be at least 16 years old with a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English and maths. A DBS check is required.
Progression Opportunities
Progress to the T Level in Assisting Teaching or move into roles offering specialist support for pupils in primary, secondary or special schools.
Delivery And Assessment
There are no exams. You’ll be assessed through placement observations, written assignments, professional discussions and reflective journals. You’ll build an electronic portfolio of your work and evidence from your placement.
