You will also be encouraged to find a work experience placement whilst on this programme; the college has a job shop facility that can offer support, such as CV writing and interview techniques.

What this course covers

Entry Requirements

• Initial assessment grade L1.8 in Maths for both level 2 & 3 plumbing
• Initial assessment grade L1.8 In English for both level 2 & 3 plumbing
• Level 2 Plumbing 8202 certificate
   

You will be required all the above but you will need to complete a quick copper pipe bending task before attempting a 2-hour practical assessment, and a 60 question online plumbing assessment paper which you are required to complete within 90 minutes and achieve 60%.

You will be required to provide and wear steel toe cap boots/shoes in the workshop.

Progression Opportunities

On successful completion of all the City & Guilds modules, together with the associated functional skills element, could progress to employment.

Delivery And Assessment

The course consists of 50% theory which will be delivered and supported by our interactive learning package (Moodle) with course notes and handouts. The other 50% of the course involves a series of ‘hands-on’ practical tasks with practical assessments to produce course work evidence. You will be assessed by practical assessment throughout the course and GOLA (on-line) multiple choice examinations.
