GCSE Statistics helps you develop the skills needed to collect, analyse, and interpret data, as well as understand probability. It is a practical and useful subject that supports learning in areas such as Science, Psychology, Geography, Business, and Economics. Statistics and probability are widely used in everyday life and many careers, from healthcare to environmental science.
What this course covers
In this course, you will learn how to plan investigations and ask meaningful questions, collect, record, and analyse data accurately, and use charts, graphs, and diagrams to present your findings. You will also develop the skills to interpret results, explain patterns and trends, and understand and apply probability to predict outcomes and assess risk. The course is clearly structured and can be studied alongside GCSE Maths.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements for this course are 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English, Maths, and Double Science. Additionally, students must have either English or Maths at Grade 4 or above.
Progression Opportunities
This qualification supports progression to a wide range of Level 3 courses in both science and non-science subjects.
Delivery And Assessment
Assessment is through written exams only which is graded as 1 to 9. There is no coursework. Exams use a range of question styles to allow you to show your understanding and problem-solving skills.
