You’ll gain practical experience in key areas of electrotechnical technology, including health and safety, electrical science, and installation techniques. Training is supported by local employers who offer industry talks, demonstrations, and where possible, work placements—giving you valuable insight into the sector.
What this course covers
Entry Requirements
You’ll need GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths. If you don’t meet these requirements, you can start with a Level 1 Construction course to build your skills and improve your grades. Full attendance, punctuality, and timely homework submission are expected throughout the course.
Progression Opportunities
After completing this course, you can continue your studies with another Electrical Installation qualification or begin seeking employment in the electrical industry.
Delivery And Assessment
You’ll be assessed through practical tasks and coursework. To support your learning, you’ll need to bring essential equipment including the On-Site Guide (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022), site safety boots, and classroom tools such as a scientific calculator, scale ruler, maths set, coloured pens, eraser, sharpener, and notepad. Mobile phones are not permitted during exams.
