The CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice is the ideal starting point for anyone looking to build a career in Human Resources or Learning and Development. Whether you’re new to the profession, already working in an HR support role, or looking to develop your knowledge, this qualification provides a strong foundation in modern people practice.
Delivered through our flexible Online and On Campus study model, the course combines award-winning online learning with regular face-to-face classes led by experienced tutors. This approach allows you to balance your studies around work and other commitments while benefiting from expert guidance and peer support throughout your learning.
What this course covers
You’ll explore the core principles of people practice, developing the professional behaviours, knowledge and confidence needed to support organisations and their employees. Key areas of study include business, culture and organisational change, people analytics, professional behaviours and the essentials of people practice.
As part of the Online and On Campus delivery model, you’ll study engaging online lessons, videos and interactive case studies before attending regular classroom sessions where your tutor will reinforce your learning and support your progress. You should expect to spend around 3–4 hours per week studying independently online.
Entry Requirements
CIPD does not set formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, learners are typically expected to have five GCSEs at grade 5 (C) or above, including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications. Relevant workplace experience may also be considered.
Progression Opportunities
On successful completion, you’ll be able to progress to the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management.
This qualification also prepares you for a range of HR careers, including HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, HR Officer, HR Advisor, Recruiter and Training Coordinator. Successful completion also provides Foundation Membership of the CIPD, giving you an internationally recognised professional status.
Delivery And Assessment
This course combines flexible online learning with regular on-campus classes, allowing you to study at a time and place that suits you while receiving ongoing support from experienced tutors.
Assessment is completed through a series of CIPD assignments. You’ll need to successfully complete all four mandatory units to achieve the qualification.
