Course overview
This two-year T Level is designed for students aged 16 to 19 who are interested in a career in marketing. It’s a practical, industry-focused route that combines classroom learning with real-world experience, helping you develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours needed to progress into the marketing sector.
You’ll explore how organisations understand their customers, promote products and services, build brands and communicate with different audiences. You’ll also develop your creative problem-solving, communication and project management skills, preparing you for employment, an apprenticeship or further study.
Course details
You should be at least 16 years old with five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language at grade 5 and Maths at grade 5. Science at grade 4 or above is desirable.
You’ll combine classroom-based learning with practical, industry-focused activities and an industry placement, giving you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and develop your professional skills in a real workplace.
The core component is assessed through two exams and an employer-set project. Your occupational specialism is assessed through a project developed in conjunction with employers, allowing you to demonstrate the practical skills you’ve developed and apply them to realistic marketing activities.
On successful completion, this qualification can prepare you for a range of opportunities in marketing and related areas.
You could progress into skilled employment, including roles such as Marketing Assistant or Account Executive, or apply for a Level 4 apprenticeship such as Marketing Executive, Market Research Executive or Public Relations and Communications Assistant.
You could also progress to higher education, including degree programmes in areas such as Business and Marketing.
You’ll study a range of topics covering the principles and practice of marketing, sales and business. This includes the business environment, principles of marketing and sales, procurement, legislation and regulation, sustainability, business communication and project management.
You’ll also develop an understanding of how marketing activities are planned and delivered, including how organisations use different channels and approaches to reach and engage their audiences.
