The weather is pretty awful in places, with some localised flooding around James Watt College, so please allow a little extra time for your journey and take care when travelling.
If you’re looking to start a career in construction and become a qualified joiner, this course is a great place to begin. You’ll build the essential skills and knowledge needed to work confidently in carpentry and joinery.
Learn how to use hand tools and portable power tools, create basic woodworking joints, and carry out first and second fixing. You’ll also develop skills in structural carcassing, circular saw use, and maintenance work.
Successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery, plus GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
Progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery or move into employment within the construction sector.
You’ll be assessed through practical observations and an exam.
