Course overview
You’ll study all aspects of fashion, clothing and textile design, preparing for university or a career in the industry. The course blends practical garment construction with imaginative design development. You’ll work with 2D and 3D experimentation, traditional pattern cutting, and textile sampling using a variety of materials and techniques. You’ll be encouraged to explore non-traditional approaches and respond to exciting project briefs. On completion, you’ll achieve a UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication.
What this course covers
Entry Requirements
You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English or maths. Alternatively, a Level 2 Diploma in a related subject at Merit or Distinction grade is accepted. You’ll also need to bring a portfolio of art and design work to your interview.
Progression Opportunities
Progress to a Level 4 course, then on to a degree or HND in Fashion. You could also enter the industry as an apprentice or junior fashion assistant.
