Course overview
You’ll study a wide range of topics including Water and Carbon Cycles, Coastal, Glacial and Hot Desert landscapes, Global Systems and Governance, Contemporary Urban Environments, and Resource Security. Human Geography is a key focus in Year 2, examining how populations interact with and impact their environment.
Course details
You’ll need at least five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Grade 5 in English Language, Grade 5 in Maths, and Grade 5 in either a Science subject or Geography.
This two-year course, through the exam board: AQA, is principally assessed by written examination at the end of two years of study, but does also include a Non-Exam Assessed
(20% Coursework) Component in the form of a Fieldwork Investigation that you will
undertake as part of your studies.
Geography is highly valued by universities and employers. It can lead to further study in subjects such as Geography, Geology, Anthropology, Environmental Science, Ecology, and Conservation, and opens doors to a wide range of careers.
