Free Travel Support

Take advantage of amazing facilities, the best tutors, great success rates and a FREE bus pass (public travel) for 16-18 year olds studying at Stourbridge and James Watt Colleges.  The pass will give you unlimited bus travel across the West Midlands, which you can use not only to get to college but also to visit your friends at weekends and much more. All our sites are on major bus routes so there’s no excuse to be late or miss a class.

Passes are awarded termly. You must be 16-18 years old, and studying a full-time course to qualify for your first pass. The college will renew your pass if you maintain a good attendance record*.

Your pass can be claimed after enrolment when you start your course.

National Express mTicket

BMet has joined forces with National Express to offer student travel passes direct to your mobile phone. You’ll get immediate access to your pass, you won’t need to queue to collect your pass and what’s more the pass is safe and secure so you’ve no need to worry about misplacing it and needing a replacement. If you’re eligible for our Free support for public travel, or for the Discretionary Bursary Fund then the system will automatically provide you with free travel credit.  Take a look here to see how it works.

Additional Support

If you are aged 16 years and over studying at any of our other sites you can apply to the college’s Discretionary Bursary Fund** for assistance with a number of course-related expenses including travel, equipment and the costs of studying in general. The level of support will depend on your individual circumstances.
