Uniformed Services Introductory Diploma Level 1

If you aspire to be in the Uniformed Public Services such as Police, Fire & Rescue, Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force then this is the course for you.This course will give you a broad introduction to the skills and qualities required for a successful career in any area of UPS.You will have the opportunity to tailor your studies towards your chosen pathway.

The Uniformed Public Services department at BMet pride itself on the range of trips that are on offer to our students including outdoor adventurous activities from Cannock Chase to the Isle of Wight. Visits to RAF Cosford and RAF Cranwell and abroad trips from New York to Vietnam.

You will be required to complete units from a set of core modules.You will also be required to participate in a variety of lessons surrounding fitness, organisation, teamwork, leadership and contributing positively to your community.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You must achieve Entry 3 in an English Initial Assessment or have the equivalent qualification. You also need to demonstrate during interview a strong interest in the theory behind Uniformed Public Services and be willing to take part in practical activities.

You will be assessed through coursework that will involve presentations, posters, reports, practical observations, training plans and written tasks.

Completion of this course will enable you to progress on to a Level 2 course including the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Uniformed Public Services. You may also have the opportunity to explore other pathways such as sport.
