UAL Games Art and Concept Design Diploma Level 3

Do you enjoy computer games?  Are you an imaginative person? Have an interest in digital art?  You can combine all three and start your career in Games Design with us!

You will learn how to design characters, environments and game assets for computer games, with the opportunity to do 3D modeling, animation and concept art.  You will learn how to use applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Maya through a series of exciting briefs that mirror the games industry.  You will also have the opportunity to complete ‘live’ briefs and enter industry-focused competitions that will help you build your portfolio to aid your progression.

You will develop your drawing and design skills, alongside transferrable skills such as research.  You will build your confidence and gain knowledge of the exciting creative industries that are some of the fastest growing in the UK. If your life is based around playing games, and you have a developing skill in art, then this is the route for you. 

Awarded by UAL Awarding Body you will achieve a UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology on completion of this course.

On successful completion of this course you can progress to higher education, an apprenticeship or employment.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including maths and/or English, alternatively you could hold a level 2 diploma at a merit grade or above.   You will also be asked to bring a portfolio of work to your interview.

Assessment is by coursework and written assignments.

You can progress onto a wide range of degrees in related areas or enter employment as a web developer, games tester, computer animator or a computer games designer all industries that are going through significant growth.

Website design and development by Fifteen
