Travel & Tourism Level 3

Examine the different travel and tourism industry components and how they work together. The aim of this course is to give you a broad knowledge and the practical skills required in the Travel and Tourism Industry.

This qualification is recognised by leading employers in the sector, the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions and The Guild of Travel and Tourism.  Skills and knowledge are developed through case studies, reports, projects, role plays, presentations and discussions. On completion of the course, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the key elements and components within the Travel and Tourism Industry. You will participate in tasks and educational visits to prepare you for assessment and you will also be required to participate in educational visits which are part of the course.  Previous trips have included Vietnam, New York, Birmingham Airport, Cadbury World, Snowdonia National Park, Stratford Upon Avon and Blackpool.

Upon successful completion of the first year you will progress onto the second year.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

You will need 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above including English and maths. A positive school or college reference demonstrating good levels of attendance and punctuality will also be required.

You will complete practical projects, presentations, reports, role plays and assignments. The course work will be completed using a range of assessment methods both individually and in groups to help develop employment skills.  There are 2 exam units.

On completion of the 2 year course, this is equivalent to 3 A Levels.  You can then progress onto further study at BMet with our HND programme or go onto University.  Alternatively you may like to consider a career relating to the units you have studied such as a Travel Agent,  Cabin Crew, Holiday Rep or Events Coordinator.
