Teaching Assistant Pathway in Education and Childcare T Level

The T level in Education and Childcare is designed for learners to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours to progress into employment or Higher Education (HE) within the sector. Learners will study within college for one specialised occupation and take part in industry placement with a suitable school setting for the duration of the two-year programme.

Learners will have access to real work environments as they need to show competence in both knowledge, skills, and behaviours gained in a school setting for a minimum of 315 hours. English, mathematics and digital skills are embedded within the education and will be assessed within the various assessments across the two years.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: Weeks

You should be at least 16 years old, with five GCSE’s grade 4 and above to include maths ans Science, plus English Language at grade 5.

There is a mix of assessments and written examinations. Overall Distinction, Merit, Pass or Ungraded award on completion of year 2.

From this course you can go into employment in Primary/ Secondary/ FE teaching and support assistant or continue onto Higher Education: Teaching or Education.
