Sport & Exercise Sciences Foundation Diploma Level 3
This course gives you the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin study of the sport and exercise science sector, and giving you additional breadth and depth to prepare fully for further study or training. This course includes the opportunity to study a wide range of topics in sport and exercise science.
Four mandatory areas:
• Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology
• Coaching for Performance and Fitness
• Field and Laboratory-based Fitness Testing
• Functional Anatomy

• Technology in Sport
• Specialised Fitness Training
The One-Year BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science is intended for those who want to continue their education and aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, possibly in the sport and exercise science sector. This qualification is wide-ranging and equivalent in size to 1.5 A Levels, and can be used to progress to the Extended Diploma in the second-year of a study programme. Students who wish to take this qualification will have successfully completed a Level 2 programme of study with GCSEs (preferably English, maths, science & PE/sport) and potentially some vocational subjects.
