This theory-based qualifications focuses on developing the knowledge and understanding of a range of horticultural practices.

The RHS qualifications are highly respected within the industry and the academic world. This course provides a broad grounding in horticulture with a wide range of theoretical knowledge.

The qualification can provide a route into the horticultural profession, they can support career development for those already working in the field of horticulture or they can provide a foundation for further learning or training. The course is delivered at our campus within Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston.You will be taught, by specialized and highly qualified staff.

* Courses are free for 16-18s. Students aged 19 or over could be charged fees and is subject to a fee assessment. Learners on benefits in the majority of cases courses are also free. Fee assessments are completed at enrolment.

Course Length: 35 Weeks

There are no prerequisites for entry to the RHS Level 2 qualifications. However, a keen interest in gardening and the outdoors is essential. You will have an interview for this course prior to enrolment.

Each unit will be assessed by a separate written examination covering all learning outcomes specified in the unit. Examinations will be offered twice a year in February and June.

After successfully completing this course you may progress by studying the RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Establishment and Maintenance, and the RHS Practical Horticulture certificate, to achieve the RHS Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture.
