Rail Engineering Track Maintenance Level 3

This qualification has been developed to provide learners with an advanced knowledge and understanding of the practices and processes of rail engineering technologies. It covers the knowledge, understanding and skills that have been identified in order to be able to operate effectively in a job role within the Rail Engineering Sector.

EAL Level 3 Diploma in EngineeringTechnology (Rail Pathway) units are;
o Engineering and environmental health and safety
o Engineering organisational efficiency and improvement
o Railway Infrastructure – civil engineering
o Railway Infrastructure – track engineering
o Railway Infrastructure – track maintenance
o Railway infrastructure – overhead Line equipment construction
o Railway infrastructure -Function and Characteristics of Railway Signalling Systems
o Railway infrastructure -Railway Signalling Systems Testing and Maintenance

Entry Requirements

Delivery and Assessment

Portfolio of evidence plus online health and safety exam plus the Personal Track Safety Sentinel Card exam.


On completion of level 3 you can progress in to work on the track.
